Hiking has been a way of life for me, for over six years now. Looking back at everything that I’ve accomplished over the last six years, the over two-thousand miles that I’ve hiked solo, hiking almost 50% of the trails in The White Mountains, and most recently, hiking through cancer treatment, I find myself in awe of where I started compared to where I am.

Many young adult adventurers like to say they’ll never have kids because they want to be able to continue to live free and not get tied down. While it is possible that having children may slow you down or switch up the way you adventure, adventures definitely don’t have to stop if you do decide or have decided to have kids!

You might have missed it, but we have joined forces with the great team at Fernweh Food Company, a local backpacking food company (made in Portland, OR) to make some bulk meals. We all are very used to the disposable, one off, backpacking meal (add water and eat) but Fernweh were happy to work with us to reduce packaging and offer a bulk option of 5 meals that can work with the Buc bag.

Running a small business is not simple, as you have probably heard or know personally. There is no manual, no instruction book or even a general guideline. Every business is amazingly unique, even compared to a very similar business in the same industry. Despite how it might seem, small business owners spend most of their time just winging it, making it up as we go and hoping that we made the right choice in any given situation. Sometimes it works, sometimes it closes the business.
