Minimal Gear Production Specialist

Portland, Oregon

Minimal Gear is on the hunt for a reliable and resourceful Production Specialist to join our Operations Team. This person will be responsible for a variety of production processesincluding trekking pole fabrication, water bottle assembly, custom design printing, along with supporting our warehouse operations including shipping & receiving and order fulfillment. Thisis a great hands-on opportunity for an outdoor adventurer to build quality hand-made products and develop with a growing brand in the outdoor industry.
 

Specialist Responsibilities:

● Production: Manufacture in-house-made products and components utilizing manual and
machine processes, while assisting in production planning.
● Custom Design: Operate the print shop, coordinate custom design print jobs, and
ensure proper artwork proofing.
● Equipment Management: Maintain and follow SOPs and PMs for our production
machinery.
● Quality Control: Inspect products for defects or damages during production, before
shipment, and throughout warranty processes.

General Responsibilities:

● Shipping & Receiving: Coordinate shipments & interface with carriers during our
scheduled pickup and delivery hours.
● Order Fulfillment: Accurately fulfill DTC & B2B orders and ensure a departmental
shipping accuracy over 99%.
● Inventory Management: Assist with stock organization, stock counts, and ensure
proper labeling of products. Forklift use is required for material handling.
● Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment,
ensuring that warehouse shelves, workstations, and aisles are well-kept.
● Continuous Improvement: Question and analyze production processes and workflows
with an eye for optimization.
● Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to meet goals and
ensure operational efficiency.
● Additional Duties: As part of a small team, expect to take part in many aspects of the
business, from photography to events to trail maintenance.

 

Requirements:

● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred.
● Adobe Illustrator experience is preferred.
● Shipstation or an equivalent shipping platform experience is preferred.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to problem solve and work independently with minimal supervision.
● Flexibility to take on different tasks and adapt to changing priorities of a team.
● Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery.
● Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
● Experience with backpacking or similar is preferred.

Schedule:

Onsite Monday-Friday, core hours are 9a-4p. Hours outside this window are up to employee’s discretion depending on workload and personal life.
