First off, I was sent this product for free to test and review, and I was encouraged to be as honest as possible, be it good or bad.
After our original trip was canceled due to weather, my friend and I switched to a backup trip—three nights in Point Reyes National Seashore. We used the Pardner’s Pad all three nights, cowboy camping with just an air mattress and sleeping bag. There was no rain in the forecast, just nice weather, and Pardner's pad was exactly what I wanted in a product like this—lightweight and durable.
The ground was damp on two of the mornings, but the Pardner’s Pad protected our air mattresses perfectly and kept everything dry thanks to its water-resistant fabric. There were plenty of little twigs and small rocks on the ground, but nothing ever poked through. It added virtually no weight to my pack, and the two-person size fit both of our 25-inch-wide pads perfectly.
Simple, tough, and effective—that’s how I’d describe this product. It’s perfect for anyone who prefers sleeping under the stars without worrying about what their pad is set up on.
